Principal Michaela...

Today was Michaela's big day to be Principal and she was so excited!  She said that on her way to the office this morning she was a feeling shy, nervous, and a little scared but by the end of the day she was really happy and having lots of fun.

Michaela said Ms. Kornblum took her to morning broadcast and then back to Ms. Kornblum's office to get her Principal of the day name tag.  She also went to Ms. West's office where she was able to help prepare class supplies by counting out enough supplies for the students in each class.

Afterwards, she was lucky enough to be able to join Ms. Kornblum in observing some of the other classes and see what they were learning... and join in on some of the yummy Thanksgiving feasts the classes were having.

Michaela was able to see what an important job being Principal is and how busy it must be for Ms. Kornblum and how she has to walk around the school and visit classrooms to make sure everyone is making good choices.

After such a busy day Michaela said she was ready to go back to class and learn!

Book of the Month "America's White Table"

This beautifully done book tells of a little known tradition originated in the Vietnam War as a symbol and remembrance for service members held prisoner of war or missing in action.  Anyone reading it will have an increased appreciation for freedom.  This is the perfect month to read and discuss this children's book that has won many awards.

The students in our class will all have the opportunity to bring this book home for a night to share with their families.  This book is a wonderful way to open our children's eyes to what "Veteran's Day" is all about.

I have located a slide show presentation of this book.  Please click the link below to view the presentation:
