Week #11 Homework Assignments...

     Please be sure to look through your child's black binder to review the homework assignment sheet for this week.  Have your child complete the homework assigned each night and return to class with it the following morning.  Also be sure to review the vocabulary and phonics words to be tested on Friday.  To the left you will see the phonics and vocabulary words we will be testing on Friday.

2nd Grade- Fun Run Raffle "Principal For The Day" winner...

     Congratulations Michaela Dunn!  You are the lucky winner of the 2nd grade Fun Run Raffle Drawing!  That means you have earned the title of Principal For The Day!  You will be spending a whole day as "Ms. Kornblum".  How exciting!  Be sure to tell us all about this great experience and we will post it for your whole class to see!

Social Studies- Communities Unit 1, Lessons 1-4
Math Skill- 2 numbers plus 2 numbers, place value

Monday: Apply phonics add consonant clusters to each base word to form a new word.

Important Field Trip Reminder-

     All permission slips and fees must be turned in by Monday, October 24th in order to participate in our field trip to JCA- Thanksgiving Program on November 16th.  We wouldn't want anyone to miss out!

Today's Fun Run...

     We had a great time earning our sponsorships for today's Fun Run!  Everyone was out there moving to the beat while we were walking and running!   Thanks to all who came out to support us!  Here are some pictures of us moving and grooving...
















Time to learn...

     After burning all our energy during the Fun Run, we went back to class and started working on our story writing.  Looks like we are all ready to get started...

     We have all worked up an appetite today!  Busy running, walking, and learning!  What a day!  Let's see what was on the menu for today...

Our First Field Trip on 11/16/2011...

     Our class will be going to JCA- Thanksgiving Program on Wednesday, November 16, 2011.  We will be leaving the school at 9:15am and returning at 12:15pm.  The fee is $7.00- Cash Only, per child.  Please send the correct change with your child.  The fees must be turned in by Monday October 24th at the very latest.
     Students will need to bring a bag lunch.
     Please contact your teacher if you are interested in being a chaperone.  Chaperones MUST apply to volunteer with Duval County.  Chaperones provide their own transportation and pay $7.00 at the door.

     Thursday, October 20, 2011, will be our 3rd Annual Fun Run.  This is the only scheduled PTA fundraiser this school year and proceeds will go toward new playground equipment. 
  • Please contact family, friends and neighbors and ask them to sponsor your child.  No door-to-door solicitation please.
